She's Back!

She's back!  Raven's Spa Time is over and we have our home back :-)  We're both quite pleased with how it all turned out.

But I haven't shared our AirBnB experience yet.  Meant to...

Each host names their place and Marc named his place Rancho Relaxo.  The name fits.  His house has a separate private entrance for guests.  You first walk into the mini kitchen area that also houses a shared laundry room.  This kitchen area is very basic and for the guests use.  We knew it was small before we arrived so we came prepared with our Keurig, Ninja and Instant Pot.  There is a private bathroom and private bedroom area, both of which have locks for the guests security.

our entrance is in the center
small but it did the job
nice view while washing dishes
the bedroom was quite spacious
there's even a 'dog bed'
Rufus approves!
Rainier approves too :-)
Rufus and Don Vido (aka Bubs)
we all loved our stay!

We ended up staying at Rancho Relaxo for 16 days.  During our time there we continued to go to the shop and work during the days.  On the weekends we had a little free time to sleep in and enjoy the beauty of the area.  We even went on a hike to a nearby county park.

We walked about four miles total.  At one point I had to stop and take a break because my knee was bothering me too much.  Ron and Rufus walked down to the river's edge and said it was quite pretty.  That's okay, I was happy taking pictures of the nearby flowers.

At one point Rufus was ahead of us happily running on the trail.  We called him back to us and I was lucky enough to catch a shot of our flying dog! LOL

leaves of three, leave it be...

As is typical for this time of year, we saw plenty of poison oak along the trail.  It's always there and even the bare stems will spread the oil if you come in contact.  I am highly allergic to it so we stay away when we spot the plant.  We also keep Rufus away so it doesn't transfer to me via his fur.  Here's a photo of it in case you're not familiar with it.

Fun Fact: Miner's Lettuce, on the other hand, is a plant that is edible.  I learned this at science camp when I was in 6th grade.  It has stuck with me all these years.  I followed the link and learned miner's lettuce is an excellent salad ingredient, full of vitamin C.  I should've picked some and brought it home.  Good reason to go back!

During our stay at Rancho Relaxo we went on the hunt for a new location to call home base.  We know we'll have to come back to the area from time to time for fabrication jobs at our shop.  We don't want to have the same situation as we had last year-having to drive an hour back and forth to the shop got old.  Fast!  Our most recent spot on Neta Lane was okay when we were parked...  BUT the two times we had to move Raven in and out of the long muddy drive were simply too much!

Our new home base is so convenient for us.  We honestly stumbled upon it.  It's been here the whole time and we had no idea.  We now live in a mobile home park less than five miles up the road from our shop.  We have a full size lot with plenty of room for Raven, Rainier and Red.

The lot has ample room for us to spread out.  We bought a used table and some new chairs.  When the weather cooperates we can bring out our laptops and work while enjoying the sounds of nature.   We have a small storage unit in the back, individual garbage cans with weekly pickup service, the laundry room/community room is practically next door too.  There is a large garden area where we could rent (but we're not going to) a 10' x 10' section to cultivate as we choose.  I can enjoy the flowers (primarily roses) and not have to do all the work :-)  Surrounding the garden area is a huge grass area, perfect for Rufus.  The local turkeys wander through on occasion.  We spotted an unusually colored turkey just the other day.

Raven is back in tip top shape after her Spa Treatments.  It sure makes us feel better knowing that we won't have to explain our unsightly and mangled side panel.

yippee! no more cable ties to hold the panel in place!
We've been at our new location for about three weeks now.  We've had to move Raven in and out once already and it was super easy :-)

Ron and I are working on getting more east coast customers for our upcoming venture to North Carolina.  If all goes well, we'll be going into Maine to make some slide repairs.  Wish us luck!

TRUTH!

  1. Glad your AirBnB was a success. That's a huge room! Great catch on Rufus airborne :-)

Your new spot looks great, especially being so convenient to the shop. Hope you can get to Maine, it's so beautiful.
