Another Puzzle Piece Is Secured

Planning to go full time in an RV is exhausting!  There are so many variables to consider.  Ron and I had hoped that our 1997 Suburban would be able to pull the trailer that we fell in love with at the last RV show we attended.  However, after Ron did some researching on tow capacities, we discovered that the Suburban wouldn't be the right vehicle for the job.  We needed something that would tow a lot more weight.

I'm happy to report that Ron found a perfect match and it's sitting in our driveway :-)

"Red" is capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds, is a comfortable ride and goes along with our 'R' theme.  LOL

Red is a 2003 Ford Excursion.  Ron jokes that he drives a modern car that was made in this century :-)  My Camry is a 2000 model but it was made in the 1990's...

We chose the Excursion because, like the Suburban, we need the back area to fit our work equipment and also enable us to pick up a full 48" x 96" sheet of acrylic (or another material) for fabricating.

After the upcoming trade show we'll get the house ready to go on the market.  Once the house sells, we can purchase our dream trailer outright, pay off the truck loan and start off debt free!

It's so exciting to say these words:    Retirement Here We Come!!!

    1. Definitely is exciting! The trade show is in Long Beach, March 9 & 10. It's coming sooner than we thought when we signed up in December. So much to do, so little time... It's all good though :-)

  2. Whoo Hoo! You're getting closer! When will you pick up your rig? Did you sell/store/give away all your "stuff" yet?

  3. Closer is fantastic! We're focused on getting ready for the trade show: brochures need creating & a banner is on the to-do list among other things. After that we'll concentrate on the house and the purging. We plan to keep the shop for a little while so we can put a few things in there if necessary rather than pay for a storage locker at first. Ron says you're invited to our garage sale. LOL :-)
