Sneak Peak

our new home!!  :-))

We went to Best RV in Turlock a couple of weeks ago.  It was a spur of the moment trip.  We went on a weekday so they weren't busy at all.  When we arrived a salesman, Jerry, offered to help.  We already knew what we wanted.  We've known it for two years but Jerry didn't know that...  Soon the owner, Nile, came into the lobby area and asked us a few questions.  Ron mentioned that he heard the newer models have more Corian than the current models.  Nile said he just got two 2017 models in just two days prior.  He said they will cost a little more.  We're okay with that.  He said no one has stepped foot in them.  We were giddy!

Jerry took us first to see the 2016 model.  We weren't crazy about the square (sharp) top edges on the kitchen counter top.  Supposedly it was Corian but it didn't have a nice rounded edge.  I know, but it's the little things that will end up bugging you if you sacrifice.

on the hunt

We began the hunt for the 2017 model.  Finally found it all closed up and sandwiched between other rigs on the far lot.  Jerry called in the forklift to move it so we could take a better look at it.  While we waited for the crew to open the slides we stepped inside.  It sure looks different with the slides in.  We loved the new color scheme.  We loved the rounded corners of the Corian counter tops.  We loved the big single sink.  We loved everything about it and we said to Jerry, "Let's sign some papers!"

We gave them everything they asked for and maybe a bit too much.  We mentioned that we have a rental site, yet the credit report still shows us as having a mortgage.  They said our income to debt ratio was too high.  BUT, they did accept our promise to come back when the house closes and pay for it outright.  So for now, we've given them a down payment and they've put a SOLD sign on it!!

Suzanne, our realtor, has her team going to bat for us to get the house closed before the Labor Day weekend.  With the good luck we've had so far and the determination to get it done, we should be able to go back to the dealer and buy our new home next weekend!!  Just in time for us to head out to Idaho for a wedding :-))

Once it's officially ours, I'll show you the inside.  Plus, I was so caught up in the moment, I forgot to take some photos of the interior...

  1. Sooo exciting!! It looks like a really good size for full-timing and I can't wait to see the inside. You're going to have so much fun making it your own. Be sure to take your time, and notes, on the walk-through. Ask lots of questions, even if you think they're stupid - especially about the electric, water, sewer, slides and jacks :-)))) You have to be jumping out of your skin!!

    1. It's 32' long but I believe that's from bumper to hitch. It feels like a 5th wheel on the inside because of the rear opposing slides. Good advise on the notes. Thanks :-) The timing is killing us though-wish we could've financed it so we could take our time getting it organized. Oh well, it'll work out in the end!

    1. Thanks Debbie :-) They don't have the inside photos of the 2017 models yet. I plan to put a borrowed floor plan photo up when I post inside photos as that has remained the same since we first saw it.
