The Dust Is Finally Settling

The last few weeks have been crazy unnerving around here.  We brought the trailer home (we need to find an 'R' name besides Rocky since that's Alex's cat's name) on September 3rd.

We drove it past the old house to put a few things in it then we pulled it to our spot in nearby Rocklin (another R word, LOL).  It sat there unvisited for a couple of days.  We worked late each night packing, purging stuff, taking trips to the storage unit, filling up garbage cans and eating out way too often.  Those of you who have done this before us know the drill.

On occasion we would drive items up to the trailer and unload boxes.  We set up the electricity and remembered to use our surge protector.  We managed to hook up to water but had no idea how to get it hot :-(

Our intention was to be in Idaho for a special wedding that happened on the 10th.  We had five days at the house rent free once escrow closed so we needed to be out by the end of the day on Sept 7th.  To be exact, we left the house just past 3AM on the night/morning of the 7th and 8th.

The first night in the trailer wasn't exactly a dream since we couldn't shower the next day (no hot water yet).  The dealer said all we had to do was hit the switch on the interior panel.  They didn't mention that we also had to go outside and flip the switch there too.  Thankfully Ron figured it out and we finally got a nice hot shower!

We had to make a hard call on Thursday and tell the bride that we wouldn't be out for the wedding :-( She completely understood and said she'd love to see us when we're more settled and relaxed.

Note:
I began writing this over a week or so ago.  We're actually on our first work related road trip now.  More to come.  Also, here's our floor plan.  Once the house is clean, I plan to take actual photos of it to share.

Rockwood 2703WS, fits us all great so far

Thanks for reading.  Any ideas for a good R name for the trailer are appreciated :-)

    1. That's a good one too! We may just have to put the names in a hat to pick one :-)

  4. Congrats on getting in your trailer and getting things figure out! It will take a while to get settled in, so try not to rush the process. How about Rolen?

    1. True about settling in. We have most things figured out but there's always one thing just puzzling us of where to put it. Thankfully we're not busting at the seams! Thanks for the name suggestion. You guys are making it hard to pick! Seriously going to need a hat to decide :-))
